The World Travel Fair Melbourne is produced by Away Travel Group Pty Ltd.

Away Travel Group commenced operations in early 2021 in the middle of Melbourne’s extensive Covid-19 lockdowns with the initial objective to help reestablish some sales for a friends Nepalese Trekking company which has been decimated by the pandemic.

With the realisation that there was no forum for smaller tour operators to market face to face with Australian’s we decided to launch a travel exhibition to allow destinations and travel operators to feature their products or regions to the general public.

In the twelve months to June 30th, 2025 ; Melbournians took over 2 million international trips for the purpose of taking a holiday, according to the overseas travel survey commissioned by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)[1]
